Hey gang -

Finally off embargo slightly, so I can talk about this publicly. You may see some folks talking about this thread (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/403068/psa-playtesters-at-zos-this-week) this week. In short, ZOS has invited twelve players from around the world to head down to their studio for 3 days of testing, feedback and discussion around existing and upcoming content. I am one of those players, so I'll be down there for the latter half of this week.

I am under NDA and can't talk about anything specific that I learn while I'm there (until they permit me to, at least), but if you guys happen to have anything specific you'd like me to discuss with the team or specific individuals on the team while I'm there, poke me and let me know (Discord is easiest if you're in the TSE server, but I'll try to check the forums here periodically). No guarantees, and I'm sure some of your feedback are among the pages of notes I've compiled myself already, but figured I'd offer. :)

Off the top of my head, 3 things.

1) Storage chests in homes for ESO PLUS members doubled in capacity to go along with bank space, housing items.

2) Overland content needs buffed BIGTIME! I’m not sure of the overland caps, think it’s 160 or 300, but if ONE TAMRIAL was supposed to make things scale to your level, it’s failing miserably. It is highly disappointing when you do a quest line and things just die within 2 seconds. Example, yesterday I finally finished the Dark Brotherhood quest. This entire hype of the black dragon and when finally facing her/him/it, it was over before she even finished one line of monologue. Highly disappointing. And that is everywhere.

3) Profile settings for CP allocation. I don’t care if we have to pay 3000 gold everytime we change the CP’s, but to manually have to go back and forth to set things 1 at a time is disgusting. Each player should have at least 3 profiles that they can save and load in a moments instance. There is a huge difference between focusing on quest content and veteran trials.

That’s it so far. Thanks Ix.

#3 was already on my list, but I'll add 1 & 2.

#2 might be tricky, cuz newer players still struggle - it's more that CP and gear makes it significantly easier. I'll noodle on it on my flight and bring it up though.

In regards to the overland stuffs... the forums are alive with post upon post about how much people struggle. I see it in Zone chat nightly, it's how I have met some of our current members! Upping the difficulty globally would be damaging to the rather large demographic that is the casual new player.

That said...

Dolmens: PRE-launch they talked about them scaling in difficulty dynamically as more folks got involved in the fight, even hitting a threshold in which if enough numbers were involved, a special boss would spawn at the end. This has been done with great success in other MMOs.

World Bosses: In no way should these guys be soloable and most are.

Guild mechanics, Oakos's mega wish list:

Give guilds a LIFE...hell, just copy Guild Wars 2's system or SW:TOR or EQ2s or.... Guilds should have levels, these are raised by quests and accomplishments completed by dedicated members. Some of it solo, some of it Trial level. As the guilds level raises the members gain perks such as 10% off repairs from NPCs, Guild specific quests, Guild specific gear, Guild specific mounts, Titles etc. ect... ESO is a PERFECT platform for this. This would work across the board for both content guilds and trade guilds as each would attain certain rewards faster than the other i.e. TSE would attain a sales mile stone far faster than Vanquish.

An in game EVENT CALENDAR...

The ability to drag and drop guild members from the guild pane to a group

Detailed member info without the use of an add on that's been outdated for years

The ability to display your guild name without a tabbard

In panel member flare, some way to reward and denote the members who go above and beyond, allow for customization of symbols and color

Guild halls - the housing system is some of the best I've seen in any MMO, carry this over to guild halls, make them PRICEY (gold or Crowns) and something for a guild to truly be proud of (Capital Ships in SW:TOR was this) The halls would have ranks, each rank opening more amenities such as a higher player cap allowed in the instance.

Guild focused PvP rewards like war banners or guild specific siege weapons, tents, markers etc.

Guild-to-guild, shared alliance channels

Will come up with some more later! MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN, IX! = )

That's awesome Ix! Are selfies covered by the NDA? What about swag? haha j/k

I had a few issues listed that bothered me, including a few game systems, lots of bugs & glitches, and some art/sound/environment criticism (lol). I'll throw a couple of the game system ones since art is subjective and bugs/glitches are more of a technical thing and sort of a separate issue.

1. Guild management tools. You actually run guilds so you have a way better grasp of what's going on and what the core issues are, but here is my perspective from a non-guild leader:

- guild bank withdrawal limits and/or rank filters. The rank system does a good job of preventing guild banks being plundered by new members but once a member achieves sufficient rank they have 100% access to it. Guilds would benefit from being able to set a withdrawal limit or withdrawal filter for specific items depending on member rank. This wouldn't stop high level officers from plundering but that's not the issue.

- member note editing. similar to withdrawal filters/limits. Be able to apply a filter where a member can only edit their own note, not anyone else's.

- calendar of events. Similar to what we have here on the website, except in game. I know there are addons-for such, but it requires every person to download and install it for it to be useful. Adding an actual inter-active calendar of events complete with sign-ups would increase event participation, foster more community spirit within guilds, and make guilds more robust and transparent. Downside: less website participation.

- mail system. An in-game mass mail system that doesn't trigger the spam detector. (was this fixed? do the addons no longer trigger it?) Either way, console would benefit from it.

- item linking in the MOTD. I'd love to be able to click on a link in the MOTD or the Guild Home page without having to go to a guild trader, searching for the item, and clicking on it there.

- guild bank / trader bidding transparency: This is a bit of a thorny issue with bid spying and guild rivalries, but transparency with funds and bids at least with trusted members would go a long way toward making guilds more robust and encourage more of a community spirit, and lead to higher levels of participation. There was a time when all guild finances were all transparent including the bids, then it was changed (for the better, I might add). I realize this issue can be solved by utilizing the guild rank system, but that only goes so far and it requires high level control, judgment, and execution from the guild leadership. This is more of a personal issue for me, but I know for sure that higher levels of transparency would go a long way towards improving the game overall. Sorry, this point turned into kind of a gripe. Hmm, feel free to ignore this one :)

2. Re-ordering stuff
- ability to re-order your characters in the character select menu
- ability to re-order your guilds without having to leave/rejoin
- ability to re-order costumes/hats/mounts/etc. by Favorites, Alphabetical, Rarity, etc.

Again, awesome news Ixtyr about the in-person invite you got and thanks for letting us throw some feedback/questions/complaints at you! Heh.

Literally all of your guild feedback is on my list and then some, Oaks. Totally agree, their existing systems for community building are criminally weak.

Noting the re-ordering stuff too, Dae. Totally forgot about that.

Also, the lack of transparency with some stuff in the Guild Bank logs is actually unintended. I'll bring that back up, but I know Rich didn't want it to work that way.

Very cool Ix.

I'm not invested in the game anymore, mostly because I started to develop pain in my wrist from animation cancelling. While I don't like to admit it, I enjoy maximizing my stats/skill and that is a large part of my enjoyment in games. Animation cancelling always felt clunky to me, and was an obstacle I couldn't overcome. I know ESO has stated they accept it as a feature but I wonder if they couldn't design some future classes that avoid animation cancelling to cater to gamers who like the game, but either don't find animation cancelling appealing or cannot do it due to medical reasons.

Congrats Ixy!

I have some small ideas that would be neat to fix, but probably super low on the to-do list.

1) Raising the item cap on housing. I get having caps on stuff you can buy with in game gold, but paying $150 real world money for a house that only fits 700 items when you can fit 600 items in a much smaller place?

2) The issue of crafting stations not working and having to move them to get them to work in the guild hall. Again, not huge, but newer players may not be able to figure out how to fix the issue.

3) During character creation, being able to preview your new toon as a vampire. Might just be me being an Orc, but it really screws with the face as you go through the various stages of vampirism. It would be nice to be able to see what the end product would look like before going through the effort of making your toon look cool, leveling him, becoming a vampire, and then being annoyed because your toon now looks butt ugly.

Again, all minor stuff. Overall I can’t complain too much.

Thanks!

Regarding the housing item cap increase, that's already being worked on. Hopefully an increase this year, but not sure. I discussed that with Gina a few months ago. The crafting stations thing is a known bug, I believe they're still working on it.

I'll keep the character creation note in mind. I've been asking for a "normal" skin for a while too, which could solve that problem as well.

Is this still a thing? Rarely do I see anyone animation canceling or discussing it in build rotations any more, then again I'm not exactly mad dps. e.g. none of Alcasts builds mention it. Weaving and using light attacks to boost damage and keep a flow between skills going yes, but the animation canceling thing? Dunno. I will let one our ultra min/maxed DPS chime in!

Vampirism is why all my blood suckers now wear helmets, which I would prefer not to wear. If it didn't wash tattoos and stuff out I'd be a little more accepting, but it really is unappealing. Having a show vamp check box would be fantastic.

Also grats Ix on the invite...super jelly but of course it would be wasted on me :-) I know you will represent.

This is a minor thing, but it would be nice if they made motifs unlike to account now, really minor but in the event that you want to shift crafting to another toon or something, replacing motifs could be very expensive and now that we have the outfit store it would be nice, but low priority.

Will third or fourth the request for increased caps on house items and house storage for ESO+ accounts.

Adding Radiant Mounts to the Gem Currency would also be awesome even if the price was 2-3x the regular apex mounts.

Yeah I was gonna say the same thing! If it looked awesome there would be no reason NOT to be a vampire! haha

P.S. Sabre you are already butt ugly so I fail to see an issue there... 😆

P.P.S. Grats Ixy! I'm sure that obtaining mounts/cosmetics as part of the achievement system is already on your list (deadhorse.gif)

Just some pet peeves of mine so feel free to disregard if they're... inappropriate.

  1. The ability to view Vvardenfell from Stonefalls/Bel Foyen & vice versa (same for Summerset & Auridon). It was implemented for Gold Coast & Malabal Tor so it begs to the question of why it wasn't done here.
  2. Stairs & ladders available as furnishings for one's home.
  3. Armour mannequins & weapon racks as furnishings for one's home (if not, at least allow weapon/armor facsimiles instead for placement throughout the premises.
  4. Various singular lengths/sizes of wooden planks/beams to be available for furnishing purposes. Having only the large oversized preformed versions available is quite annoying.
  5. Continued tweaking of the "group delves" & "group quest hubs" in Craglorn so one no longer has to to rely on parties to enjoy them. If they've done alterations for the future release of Murkmire they can do the same for the previous "adventure zone".
  6. Ensure that the city of Blacklight is no longer submerged in the ocean by extending the landmass boundary around Skuldafn on the rough template that is the map for Tamriel.
  7. Placement of interior immovable doodads of player homes actually match their exterior counterparts.
  8. Being able to visit other players' homes instead of ONLY their primary residence.

Congrats, Ixy! :)

My 2+ cents:

Housing:
  • Please raise the number of people that can be in the larger houses. Not allowing 100 people in small homes and apartments makes sense, but keeping the population capped at a comparatively low amount for "guild hall" sized place like Earth Tear or that new Hew's Bane palace means we can't actually have large scale meetings / gatherings there!
  • Smaller houses in the DLC zones: I know it doesn't make as much money for Zeni to do this, but having an inn room / apartment / town home in the smaller zones (Hew's Bane, Wrothgar, Gold Coast) would be nice in addition to the larger limited time homes.
  • I have long since given up on ever getting my roof top party area at the Magnifico house, but I still say adjusting those outside boundaries for non-walled houses would be lovely. Hammerdeath Bungalow (which still has a deck despite the name) is another example of having a non-furnishable outdoor area.

Banking:
Withdrawing and stacking stuff in the guild bank needs to be easier. I had forgotten what a pain it was to take just one thing out until I was poking around the Vanquish bank this week. A system similar to the crafting bag would probably work quite nicely (i.e., "Remove item" > module for "How many do you want to remove" pops up > what you chose goes in your bag, the rest stays in the bag / bank).
