Progression Trials

Date: Feb 18, 2018 - switch instance

Category: Raids

These Veteran trials will focus on content that Vanquish has NOT cleared yet. vMoL, vHoF, vAS +1/2, HM HRC. As such, we will be spending a good portion of our time engaging, dying, learning and trying again. These are not gear runs. In order to defeat this higher tier content, we need 3 things.

1. Consistency - Teams comprised of players who show up week in and week out
2. Performance - You must know your class, role and mechanics like the back of your hand
3. Resilience - We will die, a lot. You have to be able to shake off defeat, get back up, and give it your best every attempt

If you are interested and want to run these trials, please have all of the following:

1. CP 600+ with points spent specifically into the role you want to fill.
2. CP 160 set gear (purple+) with the appropriate traits, set bonuses and enchants for your role.
3. For DPS roles, the ability to defeat a Normal Target Dummy (3 mil health) in under 2 minutes, by yourself. (25-30k DPS over the course of a fight)
4. For DPS, you should have cleared Veteran Maelstrom and have the Staff (Magicka) or Bow (Stamina)
5. CP 150 food running with roughly 17k health.
6. 100+ Tripots or Weapon/Spell Power pots and 100 Soul Gems.
7. Weapons must be tempered to Gold. Ask someone if you need help.
8. Extensive knowledge of each of these Trials.
9. Discord with the ability to listen to the Raid leader and a willingness to take advice.

As always we will try to take the first 12 sign ups that physically show up. However, depending on role needs, we may ask people to play the different characters that are available. The top priority is having the proper roles filled in order to promote success.

Finally, even if 12+ people are signed up before you, please sign up and be ready if you planned to be online. There is always a very good chance that we get NO SHOWS or that people will choose to sit at the last minute. It happens all the time.

Maw of Lorkhaj. Twins has been giving us fits.

Please watch this video and note how the groups go BACK to their Original Mobs (the same 6 people on each mob that they started with).

You hear the raid leader calling Originals as soon as the prayer goes off at door phase. That means all colors have been wiped and the group members all run towards the mob they started the fight on.

Why do this? It allows you to know EXACTLY who is in each group at the beginning of each phase. You can strategically place people who are good at mid phase color changes in the dark team, which is harder to see. You can place chains assist on the Dark Add side. We can have warhorns, destro ults, etc. in each group to handle the adds.

Its all just a thought I was mulling around. It means a little more movement but in the end it allows us to allocate our resources the way WE want, not how the RNG of the event places them.

You will also notice that they go all Nukeville on the Dark mob at the beginning. He is obviously harder to DPS due to his negate. They are trying to get a head start on him to prevent imbalance issues at the end of the fight.

hey colb to build off of the last bit, during prayer phase when there are no colors every body should continue to dps the dark twin down. even the other team can hit it from range. that way the fight isnt dependent on the initial nuke at the beginning.

that being said it might be rather difficult with the new strat you are proposing. just throwing it out there
I believe it has been rather difficult with every strat we have tried
8 more and we run 2!
